Fitzrovia occupies an enviable position in the heart of Central London. It's lively without feeling overwhelmingly touristy, combining handsome Georgian streets and garden squares with restaurants, galleries, creative businesses and some impressive contemporary developments.

But Fitzrovia's real advantage is that you may rarely need the Underground. Much of the West End, Marylebone, Mayfair, Soho and Bloomsbury can simply be reached on foot.
